This Green Sunday, JNF UK is dedicating its efforts to supporting the communities of Nir Oz, Kfar Aza, Holit, Sufa, and Nir Am. Many are still living in temporary accommodation, longing for stability and the community life they once had. With your support, we aim to upgrade vital facilities and create spaces that foster connection, helping to restore the sense of community cohesion that was shattered on October 7th.
JNF UK has stood by Israel through these dark times, offering steadfast support, and now, we need your help to take the next step: rebuilding community life and giving the residents a place to call home once again.
Varda, a mother of four from Kfar Aza, faced a devastating loss when her eldest son and granddaughter were murdered on October 7th. Her home of 37 years was also destroyed. Now living in Kibbutz Ruhama with 60% of her community, Varda believes in the power of shared spaces to heal.
With your help, we can give Varda and her community comfortable and inviting areas for residents to come together, heal, and foster a stronger sense of community.
At just 22, Shir from Holit has already endured more loss than most. After both her parents were tragically killed, Shir moved to Revivim, where she struggles with separation from her siblings and a sense of safety. She dreams of community spaces like those in Holit, where residents came together to cook, eat, and connect.
Your support can help us give Shir and her community what they desperately need to heal.
Irit, a Kibbutz Nir Oz preschool manager, has witnessed the deep trauma experienced by children in her community. From losing family members to enduring displacement, the children’s mental health needs are immense. In Carmei Gat, where the Nir Oz community now resides, the Gan Tut kindergarten lacks the therapeutic resources needed for recovery.
With your help, JNF UK is committed to upgrading the facilities at Gan Tut kindergarten.
JNF UK is working closely with the residents of Nir Oz, Kfar Aza, Holit, Sufa, and Nir Am, listening to their needs and providing support through a number of projects, aimed at helping them take the first steps to rebuild their lives:
