On October 7, Hamas launched the most brutal attack on Israel in recent history. Major General (Res.) Uzi Dayan, who has had a distinguished career in the Israeli Defense Forces, will provide his insights on the failure to deter terrorism and the operational shortcomings experienced on that tragic day. He will address the ongoing dynamics of the current conflict, focusing on the threats posed to Israel by Hezbollah, the Lebanese army, and other terrorist organisations. Lastly, Dayan will discuss the current implications for Israel and propose viable solutions for moving forward.
Uzi Dayan has an illustrious career, having served as Deputy Chief of Staff of the IDF, Head of the Israeli National Security Council and is also a former member of Israel’s Knesset (parliament).
Dayan is also the nephew of the renowned general Moshe Dayan. He resides in Kochav Ya’ir with his wife, Professor Tamar Dayan, and they have three children.
