HEAR TWO INSPIRING SPEAKERS FROM THE FRONT LINES OF NORTHERN ISRAEL

THE EVENT HAS ALREADY TAKEN PLACE

IGOR ABRAMOVITZ is a resident of Kibbutz Manara in the Upper Galilee, located less than 100 meters from the Lebanese border. He is one of only two residents who remained in the Kibbutz following its evacuation after Hezbollah’s attacks began following October 7. Igor’s wife and two daughters were evacuated to nearby Zikhron Ya’akov and then to Kibbutz Gadot in Upper Galilee, where they still currently reside.

Igor owns a property management company and operates a grocery store in Manara as well as a kitchenware store in Kiryat Shmona, both of which were damaged by a direct missile strike.

Igor will discuss his decision to move to Manara, what sets the kibbutz apart, and why he made the decision to stay during the ongoing conflict, despite the daily rocket barrages. He will also speak about how his family is managing the situation and his hopes for the future, including what he believes will be necessary for the residents of northern Israel to safely return home.

ITAMAR KATZ is the manager of the Golan Forest Block in northern Israel. Following the events of October 7, Itamar, his wife, and three children were evacuated from Yir’on to Kibbutz Mevo Hama in the Golan Heights.

In his previous role as the forest engineer for the Upper Galilee and Golan Heights, he developed comprehensive care and management plans for the region’s forests, half of which have now been destroyed by fire. Currently, Itamar is also fighting fires himself, at times battling blazes whilst under rocket fire.

Itamar will discuss the nature of his work, sharing his experience of protecting Israel’s forests and discuss the impact of the conflict on the region.
